The WPT DeepStacks online series has just kicked off on partypoker. The full tournament schedule was announced on the poker room website and takes place from October 7th to October 26th, featuring a $2,825,000 guarantee. There are nine different events in total with buy-ins ranging from $11 all the way up to $5,200. Therefore, every partypoker player has a chance to participate in a tournament of choice. You might remember that WPT DeepStacks had an online event at 888Poker this April. This time, they have decided to change the poker room and increase the guarantees with multi-day tournaments. Partypoker is also currently running a $45k Legends of the Week promotion where regulars have a chance to get a hefty prize by grinding tournaments and climbing up the leaderboard. In this article, we will provide you with a full 2021 WPT DeepStacks schedule and further discuss these two exciting events.
2021 WPT DeepStacks
This time, the festival organizers have decided to gain more entries by mirroring structures. For example, there have been two WPT DeepStacks events scheduled on October 7th. The first one was the $215 Opener with a $200,000 guarantee. The other one was the $22 Mini Opener with a $75,000 guarantee. The structure of both tournaments is basically the same and they both feature seven Day 1s. With this move, WPT is able to attract less experienced and/or low-stakes players that want to experience a large tournament but don’t want to put too much money at risk.
Let’s take a look at the structure of the 2021 WPT DeepStacks at partypoker. At the start, every participant sits down with 100,000 in chips. The blinds start at 250/500/50a. The blind structure is fairly slow and was most likely designed to attract live tournament fans. For example, in the $22 Mini Opener, the blinds increase every 12-minutes and in the $215 Opener, the blinds increase every 14-minutes. There is only a single re-entry into one of Day 1s. Each Day 1 concludes whenever 15% of the total field of participants remain. The 15% that make it will progress to Day 2, which will take place on October 11th.
The 2021 WPT DeepStacks Main Event and Mini Main Event are the two definite highlights of the whole festival. The Main Event has a $1,100 buy-in and features an impressive $1 million guarantee, which is the festival’s largest prize pool. Therefore, this tournament must collect at least 1,000 entries from its four flights in order to avoid an overlay. The Mini Main Event also deserves some attention. This tournament will have a $109 buy-in and will feature a $200,000 prize pool.
Satellites for the 2021 WPT DeepStacks Main Event are already underway. The satellites are divided into Phases. For example, a $0.01 buy-in centroll will award the winner with a $4.40 ticket to Phase 1. If you manage to come out on top during Phase 1, then you will have a chance to participate in the $22 Phase 2. After Phase 2, you can progress to the $109 Final Phase with 100x $1,000 WPT DeepStacks Main Event seats guaranteed. Keep in mind that you can always buy-in in any phase you like.
Another definite highlight of the 2021 WPT DeepStacks is Event #07 $500,000 guaranteed High Roller. Similar to satellites, this tournament is also split into different phases. The final phase of the event is going to take place on October 24th with a $5,200 buy-in. Phase 3’s will run every day from October 10th to October 24th and have a $530 buy-in. The High Roller phases are as follows:
- Phase 1 $5.50 buy-in
- Phase 2 $55 buy-in
- Phase 3 $530 buy-in
- Phase 4 $5,200 buy-in
It is clear that WPT is taking advantage of segmenting its tournaments so that lower-stakes players can also participate in them.

Besides the 2021 WPT DeepStacks, partypoker is also currently offering the $45k Legend of the Week promotion. As mentioned previously, this promotion is mainly focused on the regular tournament players. There are a total of 5 leaderboards and in order to get into prize place, participants will have to play 2 promotions tournaments per day. These MTTs are highlighted in the partypoker lobby. The Legends Club promotion will last until the end of this calendar year, so there is plenty of time to participate.
There is also a special spin until October 17th where tournament players can win up to 5,000 tournament dollars. To have a chance at this, you will need to play 7 Daily Legends MTTs per week. You can play at any stakes you like. Low stakes start from $5.01 and go up to $20. Medium stakes start from $20.1 and go up to $55. And high stakes start from $55. Keep in mind that you can only get 1 spin per level per week.
The new 2021 WPT DeepStacks festival is a perfect fit for partypoker in terms of its current strategy and development. It is evident that partypoker tries to focus on holding MTTs with larger prize pools, rather than having more events. Their mirroring approach is also nice for the low-stakes players. It is fair to say that this strategy works. Partypoker continues to grow its cash-game traffic and attract more and more tournament players.
