Moneymaker joins the flagship of the WPN network

Just a month ago, Chris Moneymaker surprised the poker world when he announced that he will finish his partnership with PokerStars after 17 years. The 2003 WSOP bracelet winner told that he wanted more family time. This would have shown him the restrictions of the corona pandemic, he explained and that he no longer wanted to travel around the world.

Moneymaker is credited with igniting the online poker revolution. In 2003, he entered a low buy-in satellite at an online poker room and won his $10,000 WSOP Main Event seat. He went on to win the tourney, netting $2.5 million. His total live earnings are over $3.9 million. Moneymaker brings the type of enthusiasm for online poker that other pros just can’t emulate. And in 2019, he was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame, solidifying his place as one of the game’s all-time greats.

He even thought about opening his own poker room in Texas. Meanwhile, he has played a lot of online poker, connecting with Phil Nagy, CEO of the online poker network WPN.

The news that he will be working as a brand ambassador for Americas Cardroom (ACR) is a bit surprising and everybody wants to know what made Moneymaker decide to slip back into the role of brand ambassador?

Moneymaker cited the main reason that he wanted to finally play online again from home. This has not been possible in the past few months because Moneymaker lives in Mississippi and PokerStars does not have a license in that state.

“It was time to rethink my position at PokerStars and I’ve decided to go in a new direction,” said Moneymaker. The deal with ACR now gives him the opportunity to play poker online without having to travel to another state first.
