Coral Poker leaves iPoker to join PartyPoker Network
This week, all Coral Poker’s online players received brief e-mails with the following information:
We’re making big changes: Coral Poker is joining the GVC PartyPoker network, the safest and most established poker network in the world.
These changes won’t affect your cash balance, but unfortunately, they will reset your Poker Points and Bonus balances.
Points, Bonuses, Golden Chips & Free Spins will remain in your account until 23:59 on 3rd December 2019.
Coral Poker Team“.
The news about the intention of GVC to import the existing Coral online customer base to the PartyPoker platform was considered a little shocking to the poker society. It`s not a secret that PartyPoker gained high popularity during the last couple of years.
Expectedly, that the decision to let Coral Poker as an iPoker skin (PlayTech owns iPoker) was the idea of a carryover from GVC’s prior business-to-business days if it is so, it is just as fair to ask why the move took so long for GVC.
Despite the complete lack of publicity, there were no notes to the poker society, just Coral Poker’s players getting emails about the upcoming changes on November 27th or 28th as notice. However, despite the players’ reports, there was no official notice not at Coral Poker, nor on Gala Poker’s home page.
However, the unexpected closure and transition, combined with the information about using up existing iPoker Network Poker Points and Bonus Balances, might forecast a little split between GVC’s and PlayTech’s iPoker. The responsibility to pay out the bonuses resides on the iPoker platform, not the PartyPoker side, so both parties here should find a solution for affected players.
As for iPoker, recently, the network indicated its plan to pick up several more current MPN skins. However, for further success, iPoker needs not only to keep existing skins, but to grow as well. Whatever the ultimate reason, Coral Poker is the one that is left away.
As for PartyPoker, the merger of these poker rooms will significantly strengthen the position of PartyPoker in the UK market and seriously increase the number of players in its room.
