The EPT returns in 2018
The cult tournament series, which was considered one of the toughest in the world, returns after one year break in 2018. The market leader PokerStars has announced that it will host the European Poker Tour (EPT), Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) and Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) starting in 2018. The just mentioned tournament series, especially the European edition (EPT), had achieved cult status over the years and were always a highlight. Nevertheless, by the end of 2016, they had decided to merge all of the tournament series under the new brands, the PokerStars Championship and the PokerStars Festival.
The feedback from the players in the current tournament year made PokerStars think, so that they now want to go back to the roots and want to include the popular tournament series again as an main part of the live tournament calendar. So far, the stations Barcelona, Sochi, Prague and Monte Carlo have already been firmly confirmed for the EPT 2018. More stations will probably be announced in early January 2018. As in the years before, every event will surely be a resounding success with thousands of participants and millions of prize money being distributed amongst the players.
Since 2014, the EPT tournament series has been held 13 seasons in total and there were 11 stations in 18 countries, which made this tournament series to one of the most popular in the world. Players told about the EPT that this is the tournament series with the best players and that the general player pool is much stronger as at other tournaments.
More than € 432 million in prize money has been awarded during the European Poker Tour over the years. With the return of the tournament series, the milestone of half a billion euros is now not so far away and no one doubts that it will be achieved in the future.
We look forward to many interesting live tournaments in 2018 and we wish all players a lot of success and good hands at the tables!
