The mission to improve poker ecology continues at PartyPoker
What other changes is PartyPoker planning? This is the big question many players ask themselves. The fact is that they are thinking a lot about how to make the game fairer and especially to protect casual gamers from the big sharks, who are just waiting to facilitate their bankroll with all kinds of technical aids and tricks.
A first sensible step was the ban on the use of a poker HUD and that all players had to choose a new nickname so that existing databases about players became unusable. The future of online poker is very clear without a HUD and not only PartyPoker has taken this path for a long time. Even big names like the GG network or Unibet use the same strategy. The providers that are still missing will also follow soon and it is only a matter of time.
The next step was to change the Cash Game Heads Up tables
Another step in the right direction was clearly the change in cash game heads up tables. Gone are the days that all regulars occupy the entire heads up waiting lists and wait for the fish. From now on you can only have a maximum of 1 waiting list per limit, regardless of whether Texas Holdem or Pot Limit (PLO) Omaha. Of course, that’s not really good news in the eyes of the whole heads up regulars, but if you look at it from a different perspective and refer to the entire player pool, this change definitely makes sense.
What changes could follow?
Hard to say. It might still be conceivable that the number of tables a player can play at the same time will be limited, similar to PokerStars. However, it will certainly not be so extreme as at PokerStars, where you can only play a maximum of 4 tables at the same time. If such a rule comes up, party will certainly tend to 6-10 tables. But at the moment this is only pure speculation whether such regulation will come.
Otherwise, it would be conceivable that one might introduce a similar model to that of the Winning Poker WPN network that players have to come back to a table with the same stack with which they left the table for a certain time. No matter if it is 2 hours later or 2 days.
It is also conceivable that you introduce a few anonymous tables, where all player names are hidden and you only see players 1,2,3 etc.
Maybe something very special that we don’t have on the screen. In our opinion, PartyPoker’s efforts and changes so far are absolutely justifiable. It can be assumed that all further changes will make sense since efforts have always been made to find a fair solution for professional players and to make the game interesting and profitable.
