GGPoker plans to attack the European online poker market and has received a license from Malta Gambling Authority (MGA)

The GGPoker network is just at the beginning and the new license in Malta means nothing stands in the way of expanding the network in various European markets. Most of the skins of the GG network are currently licensed in Curacao (offshore). Only the BestPoker, who will switch to the iPoker network in July, still has various licenses in other EU countries.

GGPoker has had a valid gaming license from the UK Gaming Commission (UKGC) for a long time.

The Maltese online gambling license is by far the most common for operators who want to offer their services across Europe and beyond. For GGPoker, it extends the geographical presence of the network and facilitates collaboration with third-party providers who already work under a Maltese B2C license.

“It is a very important license to get to Europe,” said Jean-Christophe Antoine, head of the GGPoker network on the Pokerfuse podcast.

The GG network has developed into the largest poker network in the world in recent years; it is the strongest follower of PokerStars and the hottest competitor for the future. For many years, the focus was exclusively on the Asian poker market, but for 1-2 years the network has become more popular among players in Europe.

GGPoker started incredibly – since the beginning of 2020 – and the number of players keeps increasing daily. Additionally, GGPoker team brought lots of players as brand ambassadors, including Daniel Negreanu, Fedor Holz, Boris Becker and many more. The recently closed cooperation with the WSOP naturally caused a lot of attention and increased the level of awareness. In May, GGPoker hosted the WSOP Circuit Online series; in July another hit follows, which is then exclusive to the GGPoker network to win the WSOP 2020 Online and the coveted golden WSOP bracelets.

GGPoker moves with time and it is slightly ahead of other poker sites

The reason why the network is more popular in Europe is obvious. They have managed to develop state-of-the-art software that stands out from the competition with some unique functions. This is particularly well received by casual gamers and that is also the reason why GGPoker is so popular and, unlike many other online poker rooms, the playing field is soft and pleasant to play.

They have managed to find a healthy middle ground that appeals to regular and casual players. The number of players has exploded since the beginning of 2020 and you can find enough action 24/7 at all limits. As mentioned at the beginning, GGPoker is still relatively unknown in Europe, at least for players who just join the tables as a hobby and are not very knowledgeable about what is going on. If GGPoker continues with its present momentum and surprises the poker scene with more surprises and offer, the curve will continue to climb steeply in the next few years.
