GVC Holding finally won the battle with 888 for buying bwin.party. Despite the fact that all was pretty clear for 888 to buy the operator, still GVC got the advantages in this fight.

In June 2015 all was prepared, that 888 buys the bwin.party for $1.4 billion. However Sportingbet, the company behind GVC, could not let Party Poker market go, so they offered $1.72 billion to bit the bet.

Two month later 888 stopped trying to equal $1.72 billion offer to buy the operator.

Experts say, that GVC was that much pushy for buying bwin.party because of proprietary technology and big market in Asia and Africa.

This is just one of few titan mergers of this year, such as Ladbrokes and Gala Coral (2.3 billion pounds) and Betfair with Paddy Power (5.5 billion pounds).
