The poker movie Rounders is already 20 years old
It’s actually been 20 years since the famous poker movie Rounders premiered in the cinema with main actors Matt Damon and Edward Norton! In the beginning, the movie was not really a hit and only grossed $ 8,459,126 on the opening weekend and only $ 22,905,674 to the end.
Gradually, however, the film developed into a hit after he came on VHS in the shops. A major reason was for sure the poker boom by Chris Moneymaker who won five years later as hobby player the most important poker tournament in the world, the World Series of Poker Main Event 2003.
Incidentally, in 1998 Matt Damon and Edward Norton played the $ 10,000 Main Event to promote the film. Damon was knocked out by poker legend Doyle Brunson after running into Brunson’s aces with KK.

If it really comes to a second part of Rounders, the movie would certainly not just hit the poker scene like a bomb. It exist already a story for the second part and they already have spoken with various actors. Now it depends on different companies if it comes to a production.
