Isaac Haxton gewinnt ein Short Deck Poker Event

There were six players seated on the final table of Event # 4, the Poker Masters $ 10,000 Short Deck Poker. After 5.5 hours of play, only one left: Isaac Haxton took the title along with $ 176,000 after defeating Maurice Hawkins heads-up.

With the win, Haxton advanced to second place in the Poker Masters ranking, only 30 points behind Brandon Adams. This was the third cash for Haxton at only four events in the race for the Purple Jacket.

It was a new event for many of the players used to the traditional Texas Hold’em format, and the action was mostly fast and fierce. With hand valuables close to each other before the flop, this meant many all-ins and calls where the chip stacks rose and fell fairly quickly.

“I played my first hand on Short Deck yesterday,” Haxton said, laughing. “As the blinds got higher, I started to learn a little more, and I’ve been very strong for the last thirty hands.”
