Former iPoker partner Mybet files for bankruptcy
Even though YourPokerDream has never worked with Mybet and Mybet has not been offering poker since June 2016, it’s worth the news.
The announcement that the former iPoker Skin Mybet filed for bankruptcy on Friday, August 17, 2018 at the District Court of Charlottenburg because of impending insolvency, hit in the industry like a bomb. It is no secret that the development has been down for many years, but that it is now so far it is a real shock.
Apparently, Mybet had tried in vain for months to get potential investors, but this was not successful. Why such a big company ever got into such a situation, can only be speculated. Experts see the reasons in a failed market strategy and the weak development, for example in the mobile sector. It seems there exist also tax debts of many millions at the tax office in Frankfurt am Main.
Understandably, some Mybet customers who are still active in the field of sports betting may have become a bit nervous as they heard about this message. We can reassure all players at this point. All player balances are safe and unaffected by the bankruptcy. The reason is the Malta Gaming Authority. The gambling authority of the Mediterranean state is the official licensor of Mybet and has defined in its guidelines a so-called “Gaming Player Protection Regulation”. As a result, all bets and existing credits are secured.
