GG extends the market policy

Popular poker network, GGPoker recently withdraws from a dozen European markets earlier this month due to regulatory reasons

The most affected markets are the ones from the European countries, where the regulatory environment is unclear and undefined. Countries such as Colombia, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, and Switzerland, are some of the countries affected. Hence, the poker network still intends for a return to those countries affected, once they can get licenses and become regulated in the market.

The Head of NSUS’s GGPoker Jean-Christophe Antoine said: “we did pull out of some European countries due to regulation and we are looking into either acquiring licenses or [partnering] with locally licensed operators. “There might be a little difference in how each skin handles this but overall we are moving towards getting regulated to each EU country eventually.”

Some of GGPoker’s skins have received notifications that their access would be stopped in some countries in Europe. For instance, Natural8, one of GGPoker’s skins got a notice on November 4 that its access would be blocked from twelve countries, including the above-stated ones. But it has been reported that players in those countries would still be the opportunity to play on the network, but new players would not be permitted to the network.

GGPoker was only based on the Asian market, but its services have reached different continents across the world. Most poker skins on GG are licensed offshore, and it has a gaming authorization from the UK Gambling Commission and also collaborated with an online gambling company based in Sweden called Enlabs, to offer approved online poker in countries such as Latvia and Estonia.

Pennsylvania Lawmakers Reject Mount Airy Mini-online Casino Plan

Law makingLate in 2017, regulators in Pennsylvania passed a huge poker-playing invoice that includes the provision to introduce online poker in the state; that’s how PokerStars was able unveil PokerStars PA.

Nevertheless, the new invoice on online poker passed by these regulators gave lots of opportunities from online poker to expand in different states, including the operation of ten satellites and mini-casinos. However, most casinos online have been allowed to purchase licenses for their mini-casinos. But a couple of these projects have been approved by lawmakers, and some are yet to be approved.

One of the mini-casinos’ projects still awaiting approval from the Pennsylvania lawmakers was by Mount Airy Casino from PokerStars. However, the PGCB (Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board) disapproved Mount Airy Casino’s project delivered on Wednesday because there was no proper funding for the project.

However, this implies that Mount Airy Casino will not get 75% of the $21.2 million fees they paid for the Category 4 casino warrant. If was approved by the PGCB, it would have brought the casino to Big Beaver featuring 750 slots, 30 table games, and 3 restaurants.
