WSOP schedule 17 New Events for 2020 Added

The World Series of Poker recently added 17 new events to its schedule. This was in accordance to the request from the poker community to bring more Freezeout events into place with no re-entries. The 6 Freezeout events will have buy-ins between $500 and $5,000, which will be headlined by exciting new new $1500 Mystery Bounty No Limit Hold’em Event according to WSOP.

The mystery bounty is somewhat identical to the normal bounty tournament. Even though every player in the field will have a $100 bounty on their head, about 100 players will be selected randomly and will have more bounties on their head.

According to the event, 80 bounties will be worth $2,500, 10 bounties will be worth $10,000, 6 bounties worth $25,000, 3 bounties worth $100,000, and 1 bounty worth $250,000 all at random. In summary, there are $1 million up for grabs in mystery bounties.

Another big change in the schedule of the event is the price change to $25,000 for the heads-up no-limit hold’em. Before now, this event was at $10,000, but when it was excluded from the championship schedule, there were speculations that the event has been discarded permanently. The imminent $250,000 SHB will be the biggest event on the schedule, and is one of the biggest in WSOP History.

However, players have been advised to register very early for the heads-up event as the field will be capped by 64 players and will begin on the first Sunday of the series.

It is essential to also know that the Big One for One Drop 2012, 2014, and 2018 will be the only seven-figure buy-ins ever to be in the schedule.

The super high-roller events will begin on June 27 and there will be $25,000 no-limit hold’em 8-handed event near the start of the series on May 29 and a $50,000 pot-limit Omaha high roller scheduled for July 7.

Other inclusions in the event are, $2,500 nine-game mix, a $5,000 no-limit hold’em/pot-limit Omaha, a $1,000 “Forty Stack” no-limit hold’em and a $1,500 “Fifty Stack” no-limit hold’em.

The WSOP Vice President Jack Effel stated: “New events are always a result of player input and we’re thankful to have received many great suggestions this year. The 2020 WSOP is chock-full of new events, new price points and a little mystery sure to resonate with poker players everywhere. We can’t wait to open our doors in four short months to get things started.”
