YourPokerDream is very careful and selective about who we work with
The past has taught us one thing: nothing is impossible in our industry. It would go beyond the scope of this article were we to cover the various examples from the past 10 years in which players have been cheated or certain dubious operators behaved badly or even simply disappeared overnight.
At YourPokerDream we are often asked why – unlike other affiliates – we have comparatively few online poker rooms in our portfolio, or why, for example, we don’t associate ourselves with any of the mysterious Asian poker apps. YourPokerDream is currently working with 16 providers which, compared with other affiliates that have more than 40 on their books, seems like a small number of partnerships. But there are very good reasons why we work with a select few poker providers.
YourPokerDream attaches great importance to quality and security
First and foremost, we make sure that we offer our players only the best. We are an affiliate and make various recommendations to our community about where we strongly believe it is worth playing online poker. Even if we have nothing to do with the game operation and the payment transactions between the poker room and the player, it still very much matters to us if something goes wrong and one of our players is dissatisfied for any reason with a partner poker room.
Of course, like many other affiliates, we could work with more provider, but we want the best for our players, and that’s why follow the age-old ‘quality over quantity’ saying and instead enter into partnerships with only the best poker providers.
Everyone knows that we are 100% transparent in the way we deal with our community. We strive to keep our integrity intact, and contemplate partnerships based on crucial criteria rather than automatically seeking out the big names. Transparency, trust and respectful communication are the basis for successful collaboration here at YPD. If we cannot trust a partner, why should we recommend them?
Asian poker apps
We have received numerous requests from time to time from various poker apps producers who want to work with us. We rejected them all. We do not assume that every poker app is trustworthy and, of course, endeavour to ascertain the safety for players, given that financial transactions take place, typically in the form of play money chips being bought and ultimately exchanged for real money through an intermediary.
Even if we were the intermediary, we cannot guarantee that everything will run smoothly and that our players’ funds will be safe, with adequate security provided. For this reason, we always reject such requests.
Offshore companies and small providers
There exist certain offshore providers, such as the Winning Poker Network (WPN), which have been accepting players from the US and other countries illegally for years without an official licence. In most countries, WPN only accepts Bitcoin as a form of payment for a reason.
WPN has been one of the leading online poker networks in the industry for years, which is only the case because it accepts US players. There have never been any problems with payouts, but it also can’t be said that the promotions and Rakeback offers are perfect.
We include WPN as a provider because poker fans from the US are accepted, players continue to enjoy the online poker experience there and it has created a name for itself over the years. Moreover, for those players who wish to use a site that allows them to make the most of their experience and skills against arguably weak(er) opposition, WPN fits the bill.
Meanwhile, we generally reject inquiries from other offshore companies or small new providers. It may be that there are some providers who work really seriously and have potential but, since the risk is too great for us and we know how difficult it is to prevail in what can be a cut-throat sector of the online gambling industry, we prefer to refrain from doing so.
We accept partners with a solid background
When selecting our partners there are various criteria that are important to us, and if after much consideration we’re confident that enough of these are met, and the right boxes are ticked, we consider working together. These include:
- Experience in the poker industry
- The average number of players
- Rakeback and promotions
- Company Head Office
- Licences in which countries
- Software
- Opportunities for us as an affiliate
- Payment methods that are offered for every player
