Despite the fact that WPT previously stated that the poker event in Barcelona will proceed as scheduled, officials decided to postpone the festival. The WTP Barcelona was originally scheduled from March 27 to April 5.

The announcement posted on Casino Barcelona’s official website stated that the venue, hosted by the WPT and partypoker LIVE, are now considering holding the festival later in the year. Players who won sits throughout the online satellites hosted by partypoker will be offered to use the packages for any other available live tournament. The additional information is available at partypoker official website.

A statement from Winamax states that the event has been cancelled, though officials are considering the options for rescheduling the festival. Players who already earned their tickets via live and online satellites will be contacted accordingly.

2020 Irish Open

One of the most awaited and the longest-running festivals could also not resist the COVID-19. This year’s Irish Open was scheduled from April 6-13, has appeared cancelled due to the coronavirus spreading worldwide.

Ireland currently confirmed 34 cases of the coronavirus, as the death toll and number of infections around the world continue to rise. The Irish Open organisers made a decision to put the safety and well-being of players and staff first and cancel the event.

However, officials are currently in negotiations with the Citywest Hotel to move the festival to a later date. Players who won satellite seats and packages will be able to use them later when a new date is set. In case if the festival will be cancelled without fail all satellite packages will be replaced to Irish Open 2021.
