WTP Online Borgata Series

The WPT Borgata Online Series ended a few weeks ago in partnership with partypoker New Jersey. WPT Borgata and partypoker awarded a total of $917,300 in prize money. Also, about ten events were played, including the $1060 Main Event.

There was a lot of suspense and action in the series, and it attracted 2500 entries in total. There was only one tournament with a little overlay, which could be due to the organizers.

The World Poker Tour stated through its official Twitter page: “Thank you to all the players in New Jersey who supported the record-breaking Main Event to create the largest prize pool in @partypokerUS history of $432,700, including 44% of entries resulting from satellites! Stay tuned for tonight’s live stream at 8:00 pm ET.”

Borgata Online Main Event Creates History

The Borgata Online Main Event created history by being the largest prize pool for a single tournament in partypoker US history.

It is essential to know that the Main Event was the center of attraction of the Borgata Online Series, and it took place on the 21st of September. The tournament attracted only 440 entries, even though there was a fairly steep buy-in of $1060 and no guarantee. The Main Event generated a hefty prize pool of $432,700.

Tony ‘ ToNiSiNzz’ Sinishtaj was the winner of the event, and he took home the title and the first prize place, which is worth $77,349 after defeating Kenny “chaposticks” Huynh in the final table that took more than two hours in a heads-up match.

It is also essential to know that Huynh was also looking for his second major win of the year after claiming a gold bracelet in one of the WSOP Online events, but he was denied, and he went second place. Huynh went home with $56,900 as prize money. Another famous player that made it to the final table was Mukul Pahuja, who finished 4th place and went home with $33,101 as prize money.

It is an exciting fact that about 44 percent of players in the Main Event earned their seat in the Main Event through satellites.

Most Events Exceeded Their Guarantees

Borgata and partypoker NJ ensured cautious approaches to the series and this likely due to the fact that they didn’t know what to expect in the turnout. At the end of the day, almost all events in the tournament exceeded the guarantees.

The first event of the WPT Borgata Online Series, which is one of the events with the biggest guarantee, pegged at $1000. It featured a buy-in of $215, a guarantee of $100,000, and it ended up with about 495 entries. Partypoker had to give up some of the Rake to meet up the guarantee. However, a player under the alias ‘treetrap’ took home $18,080.

Things went on smoothly during the event. The $535 PLO event attracted lots of entrants to meet and exceed its $25,000 guarantee. The total number of entries at the end of the registration period reached up to 97, making the prize pool $48,500. The winner of the $535 PLO event, Eric “alwaysliquid” Vanauken, earned a total of $14,255.

The Kickoff tournament and Main Event were the most significant tournaments when it comes to the field size. The Kickoff tournament had about 495 entries and the Main Event 440 entries. Also, the $215 $20k PKO event was the third-biggest of the series, and it generated a prize pool of $60,600. Daniel “leinad” Buzgon won the PKO event and to home a total of $13,550.
