This festival is going to be held in a progressive knockout format, meaning that there is a certain bounty on each player’s head. Read on for more details and a full Grand Prix KO Series schedule.
Grand Prix KO Overview
PKO tournaments are continuing to gain more and more popularity among the poker community. And there is a good reason for this trend. The most attractive feature of such tournaments is the fact that all players have a chance to win a decent amount of money without the need to score in high places. Moreover, a participant can count on a hefty return if they manage to eliminate a couple of rivals with large bounties on their heads.
With this new reiteration of Grand Prix KO, partypoker promises to make it more affordable than ever. The series features 16 different PKO events with buy-ins ranging from as low as $5.50 to as high as $530. All events have a number of flights that span across all time zones. This means that during this festival, all players around the globe are able to pick a tournament that matches their skill, bankroll level, and fits well within their schedule.
As mentioned earlier, the Grand Prix KO at partypoker is taking place from September 19 to October 4 with a total of 16 tournaments events and featuring a total guarantee of $2,200,00. With satellites already underway, you can qualify even to the most expensive events with only a few dollars.
It is clear that the Grand Prix KO organizers have really decided to take their time and fine-tune the festival program to perfection. You will notice that the festival’s schedule includes one-day events and multi-day tournaments. Proceeding to the next day will ensure you a reward. Not to mention that you can earn some nice amounts at any time as the progressive KO means that your bonus will gradually increase with each opponent you manage to eliminate. It will also feature events in full ring, 7-max, and 6-max formats as well as in turbo and hyper-turbo formats. There is truly something for everyone.
Grand Prix KO Highlights and Schedule
It is fair to say that the biggest highlight of the Grand Prix KO is the Grand Prix Main Event. The Main Event features 27 different starting flights with a $109 buy-in each. Such a large number of starting flights ensures that as many players as possible across all time zones can participate in the tournament. Players are also permitted to re-enter the tournament once per flight in case their first attempt is unsuccessful. The Grand Prix Main Event features a total guarantee of $500,000.
All participants of the Grand Prix Main Event will receive a starting stack of 100,000 chips. Everyone will also play to an eight-minute clock with blinds starting at 400/800/100a. The event’s late registration will remain open for 12 levels. You get a bounty of at least $25 for knocking out an opponent. This bounty will increase over time to hundreds and thousands of dollars, which creates great value for the buy-in. Day 1 of the Main Event will only end when 15% of the overall field remains in the game. The top 15% of participants will advance to Day 2 where they will be assured at least a minimum cash prize in addition to any extra incentives they were able to gather during Day 1. Satellites starting from only $2.20 are already available for the Grand Prix KO Series Main event. These $2.20 buy-satellites guarantee you a place into the $16.50 buy-satellites which in turn guarantee a $109 Main Event ticket.
As a reminder, the last Grand Prix KO Series Main event held at partypoker was won by Sasa Lukovic. During that tournament, Lukovic was able to outlast a field of 5,406 opponents and take home $50,159.
