GGPoker is one of the most recent poker operators to announce its holiday season tournament series. Just like last year, the GGPoker network has decided to hold the WSOP Winter Online Circuit. This year, it will feature a $100,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. It will also feature several hundred tournaments and 18 of them will award the winner with an actually WSOPC ring. Read on for more details and a full GGPoker WSOP Winter Online Circuit schedule.

GGPoker WSOP Winter Online Circuit Overview

Like we mentioned previously, GGPoker is one of the latest operators to announce its holiday season tournament event. Just a few days ago, GGPoker has announced its WSOP Winter Online Circuit, which will be kicking off on December 12th, 2021, and will last until January 9th, 2022. This tournament series will offer a $100,000,000 guaranteed prize pool across hundreds of events. It will also have 18 WSOPC ring events.

Just like last year, this holiday event will redesign the usual tournament grid of GGPoker. There will be several hundred side events featuring the same guarantees. It is fair to say that the 18 ring events will attract the most amount of players. Fortunately, GGPoker has developed an extensive satellite grid, which means that these tournaments are going to be affordable to any bankroll size

There will be several major differences between the series last year and the 2021 WSOP Winter Online Circuit.  For example, the Super MILLION$ High Roller with a $3,000,000 guarantee has been demoted to a side-event. Because of that, the guarantee was decreased by 2 million. There will be only one deep stack event and it will once again feature a $1,000,000 guarantee (even though its buy-in was halved). This year’s event will also have only one Omaha event instead of two, like last year. However, the “Championship” has a 50% lower buy-in with the same guarantee of $500,000. There will be two “BIG” events. One of them is going to be the cheapest tournament of the series for only $50. The second “BIG” event is going to have a $500 buy-in and a $2,000,000 guarantee. The COLOSSUS tournament is going to have a $400 buy-in and a $2,500,000 guarantee (which is 25% more than last year). Unfortunately, there will be no heads-up tournaments this year. On the other hand, the buy-in for the Main Event was decreased from $1,700 to $525 and the buy-in for the Mini Main Event was decreased from $170 to $100.

WSOP Winter Online Circuit Highlights

Obviously, the main highlights of the WSOP Winter Online Circuit are going to be its Main Events. The Mini Main Event is going to have a $100 buy-in and will feature a $2,000,000 guarantee. It will last from December 27th to January 2nd and will have 57 flights with 15 levels of 10 minutes. The Main Event is going to have a $525 buy-in and will feature a $5,000,000 guarantee. The Main Event is going to run from January 2nd to January 15th and will feature 85 flights. Each of these flights will last 240 minutes, which represents 20 blind levels. Day 2 will start on January 9th and the final table will take place six days after that. The Main Event is also going to be streamed on Twitch and YouTube.

Event #1: BIG $50 is going to be another highlight. It will be the first event of the series and will feature a $1,000,000 guarantee. There will also be Event #2: $10,300 Super MILLIONS with a $5,000,000 guarantee, which is the signature event with a boosted prize pool. Event #10: $400 CHRISTMAS PLOSSUS will be a record-setting PLO event with a $1,225,000 guarantee. Event #15: $400 NEW YEAR COLOSSUS is worth your attention as well due to its huge guarantee of $2,021,000.

$100,000 Series Leaderboard

There will also be a $100,000 leaderboard running throughout the series. The TOP 10 best players of the series will share a $100,000 prize pool as a reward for climbing up the rankings. Points are going to be calculated according to this formula:

Leaderboard Point = f x sqrt(prize pool / k)

k is the place of finish

f = 2.0 (1st place)

f = 1.5 (final table)

f = 1.0 (in the money)

f = 0.5 (bubble)

On top of that, the winners of the exclusive Ring Events will also get an invitation to a special Tournament of Champions. This is going to be a freeroll with a million-dollar guarantee held next summer in Las Vegas.
