It was recently announced that the high stakes Triton Poker Series action will return in March and will take place at Casino Sochi in Russia. This is a result of their cooperation with the Super High Roller Series Russia, which will offer players four Triton events from March 1st to March 6th.

This news came after the recent announcement that Triton Series has decided to postpone their Super High Roller Series in Bali, Indonesia, due to Omicron concerns. Therefore, the new Russian Super High Roller Series will give players an opportunity to get back in the action as soon as possible. On top of that, poker fans from all over the world will have an opportunity to watch lots of high-stakes action with the streamed coverage by the organizers. Here is what Triton Series CEO Andy Wong has said in the recent new release:

“We know that these tournaments are valued favorites, and we thank our fans, partners and team for their continued support as we stay on course with providing our fans significant live coverage of our exclusive games,”

Triton Super High Roller Series Postponed Due to Omicron Concerns

The Triton Super High Roller Series was originally planned to take place already on February 17th in Bali, Indonesia. However, the organizers have decided to postpone the tournament festival until march due to the concerns over the Omicron spread. Andy Wong, CEO Of Triton Poker Series made the following comments:

“We’ve been incredibly humbled by the interest our first 2022 event of the season has garnered, however disappointed that current circumstances impedes us from hosting and broadcasting the live Bali tournament. The health and safety of our players, partners, and team is always a priority and we look forward to returning to host these exclusive live tournaments to our audiences anytime, anywhere with the high-level poker entertainment. We remain committed to the Triton community at large, and despite this minor setback, we will be standing by our pledge to proceed with the charitable activation portion of the Bali season as promised.”

Cheng Zhen Wei, the Head of Business Development at Triton Series, also added the following:

“The demographic of our players includes people of all ages as well as from various parts of the world. Should lockdown occur, travel possibilities may be limited for the return home.”

The original series was supposed to feature 11 different events with buy-ins ranging from $30,000 all the way up to $200,000. It was also planned to have two Main Events for $200,000 with extensive live coverage of around 10 hours daily over the 13-day series. Event #4 was also omitted for superstitious reasons. New Series in Russia Announced

The year 2021 has marked the return of many poker tournaments back to the live format. This trend continues in 2022, although some challenges still remain. As it was recently announced, there will be two High Roller Series taking place in March this year with two weeks of non-stop high stakes tournament action. Triton Poker and PokerGO Super High Roller Series have decided to team up and organizer several events as a part of the Super High Roller Series Russia.

As a result of this joint cooperation, there will be two No-Limit Hold’em and two Short Deck events under the Triton Poker brand. The rest of the events are going to be held under the Super High Roller Series brand. They will feature various poker variants as well as several Pot-Limit Omaha events.

The newly announced tournament series will have a total of 14 events across the two series. Most eyes will be on the $250,000 Super High Roller Bowl Russia Main Event. Events like this are known for being some of the most anticipated poker events in the world as they are likely going to attract many professional players and millions in prize money for grabs. The series is going to kick off on March 1st and will last until March 15th. All events are going to take place at Casino Sochi in Russia. The Super High Roller Bowl Series returned to live poker last summer with its Super High Roller Bowl Europe. The tournament series took place at the Merit Royal Hotel & Casino in North Cyprus. The festival had managed to gather an impressive $27,650,000 in prize money. Professional poker players like Phil Ivey and Tony G participated in that festival and walked away with tournament victories. Wiktor Malinowski has managed to win the $250,000 Super High Roller Bowl Europe Main Event for a top prize of $3,690,000. This was his first live tournament win.

Just a month after that, Michael Addamo won the Super High Roller Bowl VI title for the top prize of $3,402,000.
