Online Poker Tournaments: 888poker XL Series $1.7M GTD and iPoker Elite Series $150,000 GTD

Disco balls, platform shoes, and traditional poker. 888poker is making every day Throwback Thursday with the new XL Retro Series, which serves recreated copies of 888’s iconic events.

The series runs from October 9 to 25, with 27 events with buy-ins ranging from $11 to $2,100 and more than $1.7 million guaranteed. The $250 Main Event is the series’ headliner, featuring various beginning flights and a $500,000 guarantee. Other fascinating happenings will be found by players as well.

The XL Series is a regular for 888, and this fall’s edition has some interesting twists. The $109 Mega Deep Opening Event begins off the season with a guaranteed $120,000 prize pool. A $525 “Whale” variant of the event with a $45,000 guarantee is also available.

On October 13, the $109 Hurricane will be offering a $20,000 guarantee. Players with larger bankrolls may check out the $1,050 Volcano PKO with a $45,000 guarantee on Oct. 15.

Another key attraction is the $215 Mystery Bounty with a $200,000 guarantee on October 16. The $2,100 Super High Roller, which guarantees a $150,000 prize pool, will also take place on Oct. 23. The whole program is shown here.

In addition to the scheduled events, 888 has more planned for the Retro Series. Retro versions of the regular PKO Rumble and Big Shot events are also being added to the site.

The series also includes 888pokerTV. On October 25, the site will live stream the Main Event final table on Twitch. Look for freebies as well as a special freeroll.

Throughout the series, members of the 888poker StreamTeam and ambassadors will be streaming most of their activity on Twitch. On stream, the team will give away tournament tickets.

888poker’s Mystery Bounty Launch Huge Success

Various online poker companies, including 888poker, have launched new tournaments and games to its consumers over the years.

In 2019, the Poker 8 client improved in terms of looks and functionality, while 888poker’s new tournament collection made it the ideal poker site for newcomers last year.

Mystery Bounty tournaments are the most recent addition to the 888poker software. The $100,000 Mystery Bounty Kickoff, which took place this weekend, was a “roaring success,” according to 888poker.

The first Mystery Bounty Kickoff attracted 1,887 participants, nearly tripling the guaranteed prize pool to $188,700. It was a Brazilian one-two, with “Marlon Santi” agreeing to a heads-up deal with “supppp,” who had entered the final table with the most chips.

Third-place “ProfaNic” from Germany, on the other hand, won the most in bounties at the final table, finishing with $1,893 for a total payout of $12,170.

The greatest prize was $10,000, won by 89th place finisher “brubsb,” while 100th place finisher “Eg1d1” paid for $263 but received $3,000 in bounties!

Even better, Lithuania’s “rupuziokas” ended 338th and did not cash, but he did win $3,000 in bounties – pretty bad for a $109 buy-in event!

The Mystery Bounty event was undoubtedly appreciated by all of the participants at the final table, and 888poker Ian Simpson expressed his delight that the new element was warmly received by the player base.

“The higher-ups at 888 hinted that a Mystery Bounty was something they were interested in doing. They didn’t let on just when it would happen, so when I saw it in the client I was extra excited! The added dimension of the fluctuating bounty value makes for an additional piece to the already complex puzzle that is poker. The fact that some of the bounties are incredibly juicy made the tournament so much fun. Even when someone else was winning a bounty it was a sweat because you don’t want them taking the big $10,000 one preventing you from getting it!”

Meanwhile, Vivian Saliba is looking forward to the next installment of the Mystery Bounty tournament on 888poker, stating the organizers “nailed it!”

iPoker Elite Series $150,000 GTD

iPoker Network is holding a festival under the new Elite Series name for the second time this semester. It received the suffix “Weekend Edition” for the first part of October, with 21 events and €150,000 guaranteed, in addition to conventional missions.

The iPoker Network’s tournament strategy shifted dramatically in 2022. In addition to expanding the size and quantity of flagship series, two additional mini festivals have been held. Weekend Sale is one of them, and this post is about the other.

From October 3 to 9, the iPoker Network (including RedStar Poker and Guts Poker) will host the Elite Series Weekend Edition, which will guarantee €150,000 across 21 events.

The festival will take place throughout the weekend, as the name indicates. Except for the start of flights, all activities will take place between Friday and Sunday.
