Bountyful Weekend at Americas Cardroom

This Thanksgiving season, the tournament mania at Americas Cardroom continues with another surprise. The popular site announced its forthcoming The Bountyful Weekend, which will take place from November 24-27 and will include three enormous PKO events ($500,000, $250,000, and $100,000 GTD). The three multi-flight events have diverse buy-in costs of $215, $55, and $16.50, allowing all players with differing bankrolls to participate in the celebration.

Aside from the large prize pools, players will be able to claim double bounties when they knock out any ACR Pro during the three tournaments. That is, regardless of the value, the winning player will get the whole sum on the pro’s head instead of just half.

Here is what ACR Team Pro, Chris Moneymaker, had to say about this promotion:

“ACR greatly appreciate all its players who help make ACR the brilliant place to play poker that it is. To demonstrate its gratitude, they are running these special PKO’s which not only feature the massive prize pots that ACR players are familiar with but also doubly rewarding bounties on all of us ACR Pros. Through the range of buy-ins available all ACR players have the chance to secure the extra lucrative bounties on offer this thanksgiving. It’s going to be a fun one!”

PartyPoker Champioship Winter Edition

The nights are getting longer, the weather is becoming colder, and the less talked about it, the better. Winter has arrived. But don’t worry, PartyPoker has something to lighten up these dark days: the red-hot PartyPoker Championship (PPC) Winter Edition.

The PPC Winter Edition, which runs from December 25 to January 17, is the ideal antidote for those miserably cold days and nights. The entire schedule will be available in the PartyPoker client soon, but satellites for the PPC Winter Main Event are now available, ready for you to transform a little investment into a shot at a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Here is the $500,000 GTD PPC Winter Main Event schedule:

Date Time (GMT) Tournament
Sun 25 Dec 19:05 Day 1A
Sun 01 Jan 19:05 Day 1B
Sun 08 Jan 19:05 Day 1C
Sun 15 Jan 19:05 Day 1D
Mon 16 Jan 16:05 Day 1E
18:05 Day 1 Turbo
21:05 Day 2
Tue 17 Jan 21:05 Final table

The $530 buy-in, $500,000 guaranteed PPC Winter Main Event has six Day 1s, the first of which shuffles up and deals on December 25 at 19:05 GMT. If you win your way into the Main Event or buy in directly, you’ll get 500,000 chips to begin your journey for greatness. You can re-enter once if you dust off your stack before the conclusion of the 12th level (which lasts 15 minutes).

Day 1s of the PPC Winter Main Event, like many of our other large events, end when only 15% of the field remains in each flight. Those in the top 15% advance to Day 2 on January 16 with a minimum cash locked up. The PPC Winter Main Event concluded on January 17 with a nine-handed final table.

PPC Winter Main Event satellites are available in the PartyPoker tournament lobby, and you may win your way into the $500,000 guaranteed event by navigating your way through the satellite tree.

Thanks to the ever-popular centrolls, you can begin your journey for PPC Winter Main Event greatness from as low as $0.01. There are satellites with buy-ins of $1.10, $5.50, and $22 that eventually feed into the weekly PPC Winter Main Event Satellite, which has no direct buy-in; you must play your way into it.

The first of those no-direct-buy-in satellites shuffles up and deals on November 20 at 20:05 GMT, with no fewer than 10x $530 tickets assured.

Keep an eye on the SPINS lobby because PPC Winter Edition SPINS will be arriving soon. These limited edition SPINS have a $10 buy-in and pay out a mix of $20 cash and PPC Winter Edition tickets ranging from $33 to the $530 Main Event.

888poker Signs Spanish Pro Lucia Navarro

Another exceptional female poker player has joined the 888poker brand in an effort to promote the game and expand its impact. Lucia Navarro, a Spanish pro who prefers cash games to tournaments, is the brand’s newest ambassador, joining the ranks of Kara Scott and Vivian Saliba.

Navarro, who is originally from Alicante, Spain, has shown to be a formidable opponent on the felt, outperforming the European live cash game scene for over a decade. Navarro has also won a few of prestigious events, including the 2014 CNP Valencia Main Event and the 2019 CNP Alicante Main Event. Navarro is currently based in Portugal, where she continues to compete in both live and online cash games, with the possibility of live tournament and broadcast coverage as she embarks on a new chapter in her career.

Here is what Lucia Navarro had to say about her new contract:

“I am super excited and grateful to be part of a strong and diverse team of ambassadors at 888poker. The brand is dedicated to player enjoyment and satisfaction, which are some of the reasons I decided to wear the 888poker patch.”

“With so much love for the game and an eye to making it even more player-focused, I look forward to representing 888poker with pride. Thank you for the opportunity.”,

Entain Receives Online Poker License in Germany

The British operator has obtained permission to provide online gambling in the nation through its Bwin, Ladbrokes, and SportingBet brands. Many poker aficionados were concerned when Germany announced their new Interstate Treaty against internet gambling in the spring of 2020. Prior to it, all of the big poker sites were able to operate with relative easily in Europe’s greatest economy. However, with the newly announced, harsher standards and the necessity of a license from the newly formed Joint Gambling Authority (located in Saxony-Anhalt, the sole online gambling-friendly state prior to the new legislation), all of that appears to have come to a stop.

And as time went on, German poker players received even more awful news. When the new regulation took effect in July 2021, all major online poker companies, including PokerStars and Unibet, suspended their cash game services. That’s because they realized they’d have to charge exorbitant rake rates to cover the obligatory 5.3% turnover tax on all buy-ins.

But now is the time for some excellent news. Entain PLC, a British online gambling operator, is the first to get a license to conduct online poker games in Germany since the new laws were implemented.

Partypoker is Entain’s most well-known poker brand. They did not, however, get an internet poker license for that skin. German gamers will instead be able to play at Ladbrokes, Bwin, and SportingBet. Previously, the business obtained license to operate online sportsbooks under the same trademarks. Meanwhile, Sächsische Spielbanken, a German state-owned casino, received the first online slot licenses earlier this month.

These permits are only valid for 5 years. Entain’s chief governance officer, Robert Hoskin, commented on the positive developments:

“It is an important and welcome step towards achieving the goal of a fully regulated online betting and gaming market in Germany. Only through such regulation and its enforcement will we avoid the reality of customers going to the black market where there are none of the safeguards that reputable operators such as Entain guarantee.”

In related news, PokerStars has lost a case in Germany: they must now repay a player the €58,000 he lost playing poker and slots on their site because they failed to adequately warn him that it was not licensed in the nation at the time.

Over the last decade, we’ve witnessed a new crop of high roller poker players emerge from Germany. Consider Fedor Holz, Christoph Vogelsang, Stefan Schillhabel, and Rainer Kempe. The future of the country’s next generation of great cardplayers has also been jeopardized by the new online gambling regulations.

Hopefully, Entain will find out how to run a profitable and widely appealing online poker site under the new German laws, providing opportunity for new “Fedor Holzes” to stand up.
