The ICM is the mathematical model for play in the late phase of a tourney where there are relatively small stacks. This model is based on the idea that each chip represents the opportunity to land in the money and make profit. An additional chip will improve the position of the player in the tourney and will improve his chances of making profits. Chips that are in a stack of 10,000 are worth more than those in a stack of 100.
