Party Poker will change their vip/loyalty system in March 2015. The changes are very good for all players, because you need now less Party Poker Points to reach the different vip status. The biggest change are the requirements for the highest vip status (Palladium). Till now a player had to earn 9.000 points in a 3month period. Now a player need to earn just 2.000 party points a month.
How players earn points remains the same with two points per $1 paid in cash game rake or tournament fees. Full details of the new scheme won’t be made public until March 1, but the scheme’s landing page says the biggest change is cash returning to the loyalty store. Again, the exact rates have not been made available, but the same landing page shows the best points-to-cash rate is 22.22%, which looks to be available for Palladium members.
The 1th of March is also the date that the $200,000 Guaranteed Sunday Major has its prize pool boosted to $500,000, the $200 buy-in remains the same. The $200,000 Guaranteed is already one of the best-valued online tournaments because it is not hitting its guarantee pool for several months, so the value in the $500K is pretty nice.
If the $200 buy-in is too much for you and your bankroll, don’t worry because you could be playing in it for free. Points you earn from February 16 through February 28 will see you awarded a ticket to a Freeway to $500K freeroll where Party Poker gives up to 40 seats to the $500K. One of the great things about this promotion is that you’re only playing against people from your own loyalty level and not to players which have a higher level.
