In the run up to partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Germany 2018, some of the best poker players in the world visited King’s Casino in Rozvadov. The reason: The Party Poker Big Game
Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik ran a high stakes table for 36 hours, first playing Pot Limit Omaha and later No Limit Hold’em.
Tsoukernik sat with the usual suspects at the table, including Rob Yong, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, Steffen Sontheimer, Philipp Gruissem, Sam Trickett and crowd pleaser Yair “The Wolf” Bitoun. However, one name was very special, because it was Michael van Gerwen. The number one of the darts world ranking is known to be a poker lover. He told in previous interviews that poker is one of his favorite hobbies. Playing darts at a high level demands a lot of concentration from the player and poker helps Van Gerwen to turn his head between the stressful matches in the spotlight.
However, the very competitive Van Gerwen is not someone who runs away from challenges. As befits a star, he was flown in by helicopter, then Van Gerwen made his way to the Czech city to claim his seat in the partypoker big game.
Watch three videos below to see how Van Gerwen beat world class opponents at the $ 50/$100 stakes.
Tony G. wins the biggest pot
Van Gerwen did not enter the cash game stage until Hold’em was played. At Pot Limit Omaha, no one less than Tony G. could score the biggest pot. The Lithuanian poker legend, businessman and politician won a more than $ 500,000 pot after he hit the River Two Pair against Rob Yong’s aces. Tony G. celebrated the winning pot in a familiar manner.
