888Poker has made a surprising change in strategy, but it won’t have much impact
YourPokerDream recently decided to re-launch the 888Poker poker room as a partner site. For a long time we were the only major poker affiliate to consistently refuse to work with 888. There were numerous reasons for this and it would take to much time to explain now again all in detail.
Since various things in the background have been changed and now 888 were willing to put a reasonably decent offer on the table, we decided to try it again with 888. Under no circumstances will we promote 888 as a premium partner, because that would be morally unacceptable and the package of 888 is simply too weak in compared with other sites. There are simply much better offers on the market for poker players, especially when it comes to rakeback and number of players.
Confusion as to the deposit methods offered
The real problem why 888 cannot succeed, even with the change of strategy as far as affiliates are concerned, lies with the deposit methods offered. You don’t expect 20 different deposit methods now, but the normal standard like Neteller, Skrill, ecoPayz and Visa / Mastercard should actually be in there. Not at 888, where are only MuchBetter, Trustly, and bank transfer available to the player. It leaves you speechless when a brand like 888 seriously intends to compete with anyone.
888Poker should know that, so it is all the more surprising what the background is and why the players have practically no deposit methods available.
What does 888 have to offer the player at all?
Many payment options are not as we just described. The number of players is also not particularly high and they are on par with the Winning Poker Network (WPN) and iPoker. When you play Texas Holdem the number of players is still sufficient, but with all other variants it gets very thin up to 4-5 hours a day.
A big advantage is definitely the soft player field. Since 888 has a 0% rakeback policy similar to PokerStars, many regulars stay away from 888 and there are indeed a lot of casual players. Big promotions and rake races as you know them from providers like GGPoker or PartyPoker / Bwin are unfortunately also rarely at the start. It’s really all focused to casual gamers.
As far as the software is concerned, there are certainly worse ones on the market, but definitely also better ones.
Even if the field of players is very soft, 888Poker definitely cannot keep up with the overall package with the big poker sites on the market. The rethinking of working with affiliates cannot change that. The whole package is just too bad and we should mention this honestly how it is.
If you still want to try your luck and make your own judgment, you can of course do so. We are not saying that 888Poker is not playable at all, but only that other online poker sites from the overall package are actually better. But opinions are often different.
