The first dates for the WSOP 2021 have been published

Although the COVID-19 pandemic is still in full swing, there is hope that vaccination campaigns around the world will see the return of ‘normal’ life. For the poker world, too, this means gradually getting back to normal. The WSOP is slated to take place in autumn this year, followed immediately by the WSOPE at the end of the year. In the meantime, organisers want to offer another online edition in the summer.

According to current information, the Rio in Las Vegas is set to host proceedings from September 30th to November 23rd. The exact schedule has not yet been confirmed, but it is set to start with a $25,000 charity tournament for everyone in the healthcare sector, followed by a $25,000 HORSE tournament and a $5 million prize pool event called The Reunion. This year’s Main Event is scheduled for November 4th to 17th.

After the success in 2020, there should be another WSOP online this summer

Despite there not yet being more detailed information made available, the WSOP has already confirmed two more major festivals. Like last year, there will be another WSOP online this summer, and although it has not been officially confirmed, it can be assumed that the international edition will be held again at GGPoker. The first WSOP online series in 2020 was a huge success at GGPoker and attracted thousands of players from all over the world to the tables. Millions in guaranteed prize money as well as real WSOP bracelets were awarded, and there’s every reason to expect similar levels of interest this time around.

All details are to be published on April 15, 2021.

The WSOPE returns to Rozvadov

The WSOPE is also returning to King’s Casino Rozvadov. The European World Series Festival is scheduled for November 18th to December 8th and will feature 15 bracelet events, featuring the €10,000 buy-in Main Event.

Due to the uncertain nature surrounding the organisation of any large-scale event it is impossible to make definitive, concrete plans, so the WSOP reserves the right to make any changes, depending on  regulations and the evolving global situation with regard to the COVID pandemic. The European Union plans to achieve herd immunity by autumn, which would help normalize the situation, but we should nevertheless assume that there may still be travel restrictions in place as well as measures for social distancing and so on in order to continue to maximise safety.
