The 50 greatest poker players of all time
In the light of celebrating the #WSOP50 this summer, WSOP officials recently released a list that contains the 50 greatest poker players of all time.
The list was collected after totaling the different polls from the stable of 26 poker media and supporters in the industry. It is necessary to know that a list of 200 poker players was given to the panel together with the opportunity to include write-ins.
However, there was no ranking that was involved at that time, but the panel only selected which player belonged to the Top 50 list only in the stance that a chosen player has played at WSOP before.

Furthermore, many reactions were enacted from poker fans on players who didn’t make the list of the 50 WSOP greatest players in history which included David “Devilfish” Ulliott, David Peters, Daniel Colman, Jason Koon, and Mike Sexton.
WSOP Holds First 50 Honors Gala
To celebrate this great fifty players, WSOP will hold its first fifty honors gala on Saturday 29th – at 8 P.m. In this event, WSOP aims not only to honor these players but to recall the best moments and players in the past 50 years.
This big event – along with cocktails and dinner – will be held in the Brasilia Ballroom and be hosted by Lon McEachern and Norman Chad. Additionally, the gala night is open to all WSOP gold bracelet winners and VIPs. Tickets to the event are needed before entry.
To light up the event, WSOP will also reveal the players who won these seven categories; they are:
- Most Memorable TV Hand
- Best Overall WSOP Performance
- Most Likely to Succeed
- Fan Favorite
- WSOP’s Favorite Bad Boy
- Most Impressive WSOP Main Event Win
- Four Most Important Players in WSOP History
Based on the gala night held tomorrow, WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart stated: “It is important we take time out to honor the WSOP’s first 50 years and pay tribute to those that paved the way for where we are today.
We look forward to getting the poker community together on Saturday and commemorating 50 years of the World Series of Poker.”
WSOP also added that lots of attendees are in line for the event and the operators of the event also stated that former Main Event Champions would be asked to come up for photographs. No doubt, WSOP first 50 gala night will be a memorable one in the poker industry.
