The World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOP-C) is set to make a highly anticipated return to Latin America with a major stop in Montevideo, Uruguay, scheduled for May 18 to 25, 2026. The event will take place at the renowned Casino Carrasco, marking a significant moment for the region’s poker scene.
Online poker platform GGPoker has announced that players can qualify for the live event exclusively through its satellite tournaments, which will run from March 30 through May 10. These online qualifiers provide an accessible pathway for players across the globe—particularly in Latin America—to secure their seats at one of the most prominent poker events of the year.
The Montevideo stop is expected to attract both professional and recreational players, featuring 12 official WSOP Circuit gold ring events alongside a full slate of side tournaments and VIP experiences. Set against a scenic riverside backdrop, the festival will also benefit from international media coverage, further elevating its global profile.
Juan Carreño, Head of Spanish LatAm at GGPoker, emphasized the importance of the event, describing it as “a unique opportunity for players from all over Latin America to travel to Uruguay and enjoy a world-class poker experience in an extraordinary setting.”
